Subscriptions and Free Trials

ElemBio Catalyst is a subscription-based native cloud analysis solution within ElemBio Cloud that stores and analyzes AVITI data. ElemBio Catalyst provides Amazon S3 storage buckets for storage connections that Element manages on your behalf.

For sequencing, Element sets up a customizable Bases2Fastq flow and automatically generates a FASTQ file when a run completes.

For cytoprofiling, Element sets up a customizable Cells2Stats flow and automatically generates a visualization file when a run completes, which allows you to load a cytoprofiling run into CytoCanvas.

ElemBio Catalyst also supports highly accurate and efficient secondary analysis workflows for whole genome sequencing and enrichment panel applications as a premium subscription. Premium workflows are only available on ElemBio Catalyst.

For a complete list of assignment and secondary analysis workflows and available providers, see the Workflow Library.

ElemBio Catalyst Subscription

The ElemBio Catalyst annual subscription and any additional analysis add-ons include a usage credit for the subscription year. After the usage credit is exceeded, per-use rates apply and are billed quarterly for storage and compute usage. Usage costs are reported daily and are calculated based on storage tier, data transfer (egress), and compute events. To use ElemBio Catalyst, purchase the ElemBio Catalyst subscription or contact Element Technical Support to start a 45-day free trial.

Usage and Cost Monitoring

To manage usage details, administrators can utilize the Usage Report dashboard:

  • Storage: Storage usage costs are based on the storage tier that files are stored in. Based on your Data Lifecycle Policy, files are automatically moved to the archive tier or deleted after the specified length of time. The default Data Lifecycle Policy is to archive files after 30 days and delete files after 1 year. To manage your costs, each ElemBio Catalyst bucket has a Data Lifecyle Policy that you can modify.
  • Compute: When you run a flow on ElemBio Catalyst, one or more compute instances from the platform's underlying cloud infrastructure provider are used to process the data.
  • Data transfer: When data is downloaded, Egress (Internet) costs accumulate. When data is transferred to another Amazon S3 bucket, Egress (Cross Region) costs accumulate. Data that is transferred from ElemBio Catalyst to another Amazon S3 bucket within the same region is free.

If you have any invoicing questions, please contact Element Customer Service.

Expired Subscription

When your ElemBio Catalyst subscription expires, access to storage and compute actions are suspended. An Expired badge is displayed on ElemBio Catalyst resources and the run storage connection cannot be used to upload runs on AVITI OS. After 14 days since expiration, the ElemBio Catalyst storage connection is no longer visible in AVITI OS. Data that has already been generated is available for download in ElemBio Cloud until the data deletion date that is specified in the Data Lifecycle Policy. To resubscribe to ElemBio Catalyst, contact Element Customer Service.
